Scalable
The CM series is designed to provide simple side by side connection should your application require a larger tonnage system. Simply set five of the 60 HP modules in place, attach the piping  manifold kit, wire to the single point disconnect box, and you have a 300 HP chiller with 20 compressor stages.

Redundancy
The CM series utilizes multiple compressors to meet larger tonnage applications. This means that  one compressor can be isolated from the rest of the system for service without impacting the operation of the rest of the system.

Control
The CM series utilize simple "off the shelf" controls that are easy to find and replace. The CM series is also optionally offered with a variety of BAC designs to make integration into the building system simple.

Water Cooled Systems
The CM-W series chillers are completely packaged with a water cooled condenser. The three tier design mounts the condenser section at the bottom of the module, the evaporator section in the middle, and the compressors on top. This provides a compact water cooled packaged chiller without the use of brazed plate heat exchangers.

Remote Air-Cooled Systems
The CM-R series chillers are packaged to simply connect to a remote air cooled condenser. The compressors mount directly to the top of the evaporator system allowing for a compact package. Refrigeration ball valves are provided for simple connection to the field installed lines running to the ACC series air cooled condensers. If desired CM-R series module will come with an automatic head pressure control system to connect to the ACC series condensers which varies the fan speed based on compressor discharge pressure.

Options
The M series offers multiple options that can make the application and installation of the chiller system fast and effective.
Piping Manifold Kits: Piping manifold kits allow a simple water side connection of the modules to form single point piping connections to a multiple chiller application. These piping kits are designed to break down into lengths sufficient to fit into any standard elevator. The piping kits can be field configured for the most efficient piping arrangement for the application.
Reservoir Tanks: Fully insulated stainless steel reservoir tanks are configured to easily fit in the application. These cylinder style tanks are designed to meet 15 PSI and come with a 12 PSI relief valve, sight glass, air vent, fill valve, drain valve, and inlet outlet connections sized and located per the application need. Tanks may include thermal baffle, level sensor/alarm, auto-fill, and extra connections for future expansion.

See Tank Design for more details
Pump Packages: Optimally designed pump packages that are simple to add to the M series chillers save much time due to the ease of connection. Pumps are offered from Gould, Bell and Gossett, Grundfos, Taco, Aurora, and others. These pump packages typically include operation and safety controls along with a manifold kit to add it to the M series chillers. These pumps can include variable speed operation based on pressure as another integrated option.
Electrical Disconnect: A common main tie in electrical panel allows simple connection of the main power through individual module breakers. This provides single point wiring attachment, and branch circuit protection all mounted neatly in a NEMA 12 type enclosure.

Layout and Design Assistance:
Chiller Solutions 3D design program allows for simple arrangement of the M series chillers and integrated options with minimal time and effort. This assistance allows the installation to be ideally fit into each application. This assistance provides a full bill of materials and quotation for the application in a short amount of time.

Better Heat Exchangers
The long term efficiency and reliability of a system is largely dependent on the heat exchangers. The trend in HVACR chillers has been to use stainless steel brazed plate heat exchangers which are very compact and relatively inexpensive. As long as water quality is maintained at a high level, these systems can remain efficiency and reliable.

However, in many real world applications, water quality on the cooling tower loop and in some cases in the chilled water loop is subject to fouling. Brazed plate heat exchangers rely on small channels to provide the needed heat transfer which can easily be plugged with system contaminants. Once fouling occurs the ability to absorb or reject heat is inhibited, either causing high compressor discharge temperatures, or low compressor suction temperatures which can easily translate into a freeze rupture.

The M series utilizes a 20 year proven design of coil in shell heat exchangers. These heat exchangers are used both on the evaporator and condenser in the water cooled chiller.
